Before removing and potentially replacing the leaf springs, trailers sometimes lean to one side because of the way it's loaded. This uneven loading can cause the leaf spring to wear down quicker over time but could maybe be corrected by reorganizing the weight in your camper.

The short answer for this is yes, you will experience negative effects when using a Comfort Ride kit designed for a higher capacity. When using 7000-lbs springs on a 5000-lbs axl, you're going to create a much more harsh ride which could potentially lead to damaging other components on the trailer.
